Hidden Breeze: A Harmony of Modern Minimalism and Traditional Elegance

Seven Construct Space Design's Award-Winning Residential House Project

The inspiration behind Hidden Breeze is rooted in an old saying: "Orchid is a kind of most exalted fragrance, clipped in breeze and cannot be smelled easily, grows in rock crevice from beginning to end, and never compares with the flower in those markets." This philosophy is reflected in the design's low-key, introverted beauty, akin to a modest gentleman with a humble attitude towards life.

The design's unique properties lie in its commitment to creating a harmonious living environment that is both humanistic and contemporary. The transition from tradition to contemporary, from light and shadow to soft furnishings, follows the essence of minimalism, returning to nature and authenticity. The design aims to be true to itself, conveying goodwill and beauty to the residents.

The realization of Hidden Breeze involved the use of terrazzo, dyed wood veneer, slate, and art paint. The design team, led by Xiaoying Huang and architect Qizheng Huang, focused on pure detail and simple line construction, starting from the stair of straight line to curving line, achieving the same wonderful result by different methods. The essence and charm of space is expressed in the simplest way, restoring the essence is also a kind of spirit.

The 530 square meter project started in October 2018 in Wenzhou and finished in December 2019. The design team faced the challenge of maximizing the sense of transparency and openness of the space, so that the octagon window could extend to a whole surface, bringing light into the room, and creating beauty. When light is everywhere in every corner of the building, humanity awakens and the flower of the soul blooms.

In the private villa, the designer hopes to leave the luxurious light to the owner, nature and light accompany the family to grow up together slowly, and make life easier and meaningful. The design's keywords include light, shadow, pure, structural, and pleasant. The design was photographed in February 2020 by photographer Di Li.
